The wonders of Jeju Island :D

The wonders of Jeju Island

Do you know where such a beautiful island is?

This is Jeju Island, a volcanic island that was formed five millions years ago and located southwest of the Korean peninsula. As Korea’s most southern region, the weather of Jeju Island remains significantly warmer than the mainland even during the cold winter months. Wind from the ocean blows steadily throughout the year and past volcanic activity has littered the island with an assortment of beautiful and unusually-shaped black rocks. For that reason, this island is beloved by scientists and tourists for its stunning natural features.

Let's have a look at the such a beautiful scenery!

As you can see, Jeju Island incorporates beautiful scenery, island, volcano, coastline, cave, waterfall, and forest and is the place where people, nature, culture, and prehistoric heritages harmoniously coexist in a single location. Even what man made, such as a Chogajib, which is a straw-roofed house, and man itself are just part of nature in Jeju Island!

a Biosphere Reserve in 2002

a World Natural Heritage in 2007

a Global Geopark in 2010

Moreover, it is the only place in the world with three UNESCO certifications. Over the past decade, Jeju Island became the world's first and only place to be awarded a triple crown in the natural science field by UNESCO, a Biosphere Reserve in 2002, a World Natural Heritage in 2007 and a Global Geopark in 2010.

For those reasons, it's chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature last year.

Are you looking for your next destination to travel to? Then come to Jeju Island :)
Jeju Island is waiting for you!
