Something I'm afraid of!

I think I'm a brave girl, but I have a few things that I'm afraid of.

1. I've been extremely scared of barking big dogs since I was young.
My mind goes blank in front of them and I can't help screaming. Actually, I've never been bitten by a dog! Why am I afraid of them? I don't know the reason at all.

2. I've recently noticed that I'm afraid of lifelike mannequins.
Even though I remember crying not to enter a museum full of mannequins in my childhood (As I remember, the museum was about Lee Soonshin, one of the greatest genders in Korea, and the Turtle ship), I hadn't realized I'm afraid of them. No matter when I see them, I think they seem to be alive. What makes me afraid of them most is they look like they'll move and scare me!
Yea, you know what, I screamed at mannequins in a museum in Cobh a few month ago. It was a shame :(

3. I'm afraid of............speaking on the phone.
I feel nervous when I call somebody or answer a phone call. It's crazy, I know.

What I wanted to be when I was a child.

When I was a child, I wanted to be a teacher in primary school. To me, it seemed to be the most interesting job in the world. There were lots of reasons.

Firstly, a teacher uses a blackboard with colored chalk whenever they want.
We were not allowed to write or draw something with chalk on the blackboard during breaktime. That's why I was very happy when I wrote an answer on the blackboard in class.

Secondly, teachers have summer vacation and a long winter vacation.
Unlike my father, all teachers only work during a semester and they have a long vacation. I thought it would be great if I didn't work and still got a salary from the school.

Thirdly, a teacher gets tons of presents on Teachers' Day.
It might be the most important reason why I wanted to be a teacher. I saw a pile of presents on a teacher's desk every Teachers' Day. I always envied teachers especially on that day!

As I grew up, I realized how difficult controlling children was and that I would love to do a more dynamic job than teaching. For those reasons, I don't want to be a teacher any more. I haven't found out what I want to be, what I'd like to do and what I'm good at yet. I'm still looking for the answers!

Why am I learning English?

English was the worst subject ever in my life. I just started to study it for an exam in highschool.
Nevetheless, now I'm learing English for fun. Learing English itself is one of the most interesting things to me.

As I studied it, I found thousands of advantages of speaking English fluently.
I can communicate with people from diverse cultures if I speak English and it's much more fun than I had expected. Moreover, I can have more job opportunities if I'm good at English.
Hm... frankly, I don't know why I'm learning it now although I know many good reasons.

I'm just doing it for fun.
Or perhaps all of those reasons make me want to learn it.

The Only problem is that I have too long way to go..!

My first New Year's Day in Ireland

I came back to Ireland from Korea on December 31st at night. It took more than 15 hours, including the waiting time.
However, all buses were finished earlier than usual for the reason that that day was New Year's Eve. To make matters worse, I didn't have enough cash to pay for a taxi (Damn it! I had only Korean Won, not Euro!) and I had run out of the battery of my mobile phone.
There was no choice. I had to spend my first Irish New Year's Eve in the airport. What a wonderful celebration for 2011!

I was able to get to my place the following day. I was extremely tired and had jet lag. Pity on myself!
I slept in the daytime, because I was exhausted and it was night in Korea. I also slept at night time, because it was night in Ireland.
I mean the only thing I did on New Year's Day was just sleep.

My New Year's resolution? haha There isn't such a thing this year! I'll just do my best for everything as I did last year.
